Naturopathy

Naturopathy is a holistic system of health care. It combines a comprehensive understanding of human biology, pathophysiology, nutritional biochemistry and herbal pharmacology with hundreds of years of empirical evidence.

As a nutritionist, Chloe works with food as a primary medicinal substance. She is interested in how food can act as an interface between the body and its external environment. When necessary, she works with isolated nutrients to correct deficiencies or inadequacies, or for therapeutic application.

Naturopathy is grounded in five foundational principles:

  1. Do no harm. Therapeutic interventions should not have a negative impact on the body in the short or long term

  2. Identify and treat the cause. Naturopathy aims to uncover and treat the root of a disease rather than just the symptoms

  3. Treat the whole person. Rather than focusing on a disease or single body system, Naturopathy acknowledges the body as a unified whole

  4. Prevention. Prevention is the best cure. The Naturopath always considers long term health and health maintenance

  5. Practitioner as teacher. Rather than create a hierarchy between practitioner and patient, the Naturopath’s role is to educate their clients in order to support self-advocacy and health literacy so they can become more empowered and have a deeper connection to their body

Acknowledging that the body is a unified whole, and that disease states do not act in isolation, some special areas of interest include: Microbiome & Digestive presentations (incl. IBS, IBD, SIBO, Food Intolerances); Hormonal and menstrual issues (incl. Perimenopause; PMS, PMDD; Painful and irregular periods); Genitourinary Microbiome & Sexual Health; Skin health (incl. Acne; rosacea and dermatitis); Immune deficiency; Autoimmunity; Chronic Fatigue and Mental health

We acknowledge that we live and work on the unceded lands of the people of the Kulin Nations.  We pay respect to Country and Elders past, present and emerging
Body of Work is an inclusive space that celebrates diversity. Chloe welcomes individuals of all ages, genders, sexual orientations, cultures, religions and all expressions of self
